All,
I'm trying to find out which large 4x4s come with a third row of seats
that do NOT fold up to the side windows. I used to have a LWB Patrol
where the third row folded against the backs of the 2nd row. I later
had a Shogun but with the seats up against the windows I felt I lost a
lot of space. I'm currently driving an import Lucida MPV which, whilst
eminently practical is no fun whatsoever. I've got permission of
she-who-must-be-obeyed to look for another 4x4 with the seat
requirement as above.
BTW the bigger the better - often have to do 250 miles with 3 kids and
dog in cage in the back

Thanks,
Sheriff Fatman

Landrover Discovery 3, they fold into the floor making a large flat
load space. Plenty of room for a big dog back there and 3 kids on the
second row shouldn't be to much of a problem assuming the don't fight
that much. You could have a narrow dog cage and put one kid in the
back as the two 3rd row seats are independant.

Nissan Pathfinder. When 3rd row are upright there is still a reasonable
amount of space in the boot.

Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 - although 3rd row does not fold FLAT into floor.

If you're looking at imports, the Ford Explorer, Expedition and
Excursion come with the option of a third row of pwoer folding seats
that disappear into the floor when down. The Expedition gives you decent
boot space even when the third row of seats is up, and the Excursion is
umm large, more ship than car.
