Hi all, newbie to the forum so please go gentle with me! :)

Bought myself my second Disco - 94 300TDi - had a leaky fuel inj pump and would not run, had the pump rebuilt and tested by a Bosch Agent and fitted with new timing belt kit, started fine, will tick over but not rev above 1500. Now fitted new lift pump and fuel filter but still the same. Have primed system but seems to sound like lack of fuel.....been on it days and spent loads and need help please.... Can anyone offer some suggestions (clean only and no sharp knives) as its getting frustrating now.... cheers

Fit a clear piece of pipe between the fuel filter outlet and the injection pump inlet. Then start her up.You are looking for "air free fuel" in the clear pipe.Any sign of bubbles needs sorting out.
Assuming timing is correct, air hoses not collapsed etc

Thanks for the tip, will take a look tomorrow

PS - sorry if my intro was a little blunt....stress of the non starting disco...soz....maybe too many diesel fumes....

Hi all..... well a hangover and 7 hours of dedicated landy time and I have cracked it!.... went back to basics, checked timing...all ok... removed lift pum, pipes and fule filter and cleaned all and refitted then took a deisel supply direct from a 5 gallon can and BANG she fired into life and rev rev rev!

So there was fuel in the tank but nothing in the line..... then spent ages clawing the mud off the fuel seperator unit and dropped the drain plug to release a shed load of dirty water... Tried the supply again and still now show.... Right nothing for it but to try to take the fuel pipes outta the seperator and check but do you think I could get them free...NO...grrrrr, so set about releasing the bowl and after another 30 mins it was off along with a full quota of sh*t and water.... Off then to my mates to borrow a compressor and air line, blew back through to clear all, reassembly and try again....

uh,hu,uh,uh.uh, cough, splutter brumbrumbrum...hahaha at last.... Well I found the route cause of why the seals were knackered on the inj pump, dont think the seperator unit had ever been serviced and deffo not emptied in ages......

One happy chappy now..... rest of the servicing to get on with and then will tax it in March!..... then will start the body lift and looking around for a secondhand 2 inch suspension lift kit, snorkel and full length roof rack if anyone knows of such..... :)

Been reading the forum and there is hours of helpfull stuff on here so hope my newbie green rough edges will improve soon....

Cheers all
