300Tdi whiteish smoke when decelerating with partial throttle.

Advise needed:
I picked up my first Defender a few days ago (300tdi, 1995, 80k, RC chassis and 2 owners) and noticed a problem on the 250 mile drive home.

I’m getting a lot of whiteish smoke when decelerating with partial throttle. If I take my foot off it stops. It’s fine when under load, it’s only when I take my foot virtually off.

Apart from that it drives fine.

Give it a decent service, then keep an eye on the levels for a week or two, then start diagnosing stuff as you will then know what the car does.
