300tdi turbo

Hi all my turbo has gone on my 300tdi now im not that good with a spanner and wanted to know if you can change the turbo without taking the manifold off

There are four bolts that hold the turbo onto the manifold - two of which you can probably get to relatively easily - but the other two will probably be a #### to get at. They may also need some heat to help you undo them, so yep, manifold off.

Adrian I just took some pics for you so you can see the turbo, what comes off with it and the bolt locations. Bear in mind the manifold sitting on my engine is upside down.

I pulled my engine out from my 110 yesterday morning and might tear down later today or tomorrow....will start with the turbo and manifold first.

Hi thanks for the helf just ordered a new turbo and will be fitting next weekend so all being well my 90 will be back on the road
 
Hi all ive replaced my turbo this weekend and now its blowing large amounts of black smoke where it didnt do it before and was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why any help would be grateful
