Well just about got all the bodywork fitted. But before I fit wings and rest of front end gonna get Engine ready whilst its easy to get at.
Its 300 Tdi mated to LT77 box so its a bit further back from where it should be. One mistake I've made already is I never fitted starter motor, its a very tight squeeze to get it in but should be OK.
Anyway will change Timing belt and Water pump. Is there anything else I should be changing whilst in there, Pulleys, wheels, gaskets ect ect ?? Thanks

Yes Mate New Clutch fitted
Tremendous :)
What make of kit have you bought?
Everything you need should be in it.
What make of water pump have you got? My fingers are crossed you bought a decent make. Well worth doing properly at this time :)

Aint bought anything yet Just making sure what I need so I don't forget anything.

I bought a Quinton Hazel OEM water pump.
Bought a Dayco OEM cam belt kit, from MPS trading IIRC

IME, QH are the best waterpumps for the 300Tdi - and Dayco the best belt kit too :)

If you do the crankshaft oil seal, use a genuine Corteco - if you are supplied anything else, save yourself the trouble, and put it straight in the bin - cos if you fit it, it'll probably leak, and then you'll need to replace the belt again - you can guess how I know this

P gasket is worth doing too - good on Neilly for linking the how to :)

Also, remember you have to loosen and tighten the dog bolt , it is quite tight.

Cheers
To say the least.
@border does your man do Landy stuff? If so he might have the tool to aid the job. It's a bugger without it. This if if your changing the front crankshaft oil seal.

Yes he knows Defenders inside out, don't like to bother him as he is busy at work ect, but he will come and do it when I get all the bits. I would say Ive done around 90 percent of work so far right from the very start by myself, with the help of you Guys on here , But Its only these Technical bits that I ask him to do like welding ect but will need him for rest of getting engine sorted, and electrics, ect.
what the hell is the Dog Bolt?

It's just the big bolt that fixes the pulley on to the end of the crank. You get a tool that bolts on to the pulley that holds it and the crank in place, so you can undo the big nut. Otherwise, all you go is turn the engine over while trying to loosen the the nut.

The way you've come on over this project I reckon you could do the front crank seal and the new timing belt. Your only issue is you really need some tools to help ie timing pins to lock the engine etc in place and the tool to lock the crank. And a few other little odds and ends
You Landy mate might be able to lend you them on a Sunday!
