300tdi rear oil seal plastic insert

After a great oil leak from the rear oil seal I went to Landrover and bought a gen part but it didnt come with the plastic insert to guide it over the crank. I did try but just ended in a knackered oil seal. So went and ordered another and asked about the guide and was told Landrover now use a tool to put in oil seals now and new oil seals dont come with an insert now. Are they talking rubbish? I dont want to bugger up another one.
