Hi,

I have a 300Tdi disco with an EDC engine (1998) which has a knackered crankshaft. I have a 300Tdi non EDC engine from a defender that I want to put in.
I'd like to leave the new engine as Non EDC but will this be a problem? I know the EDC model has a different fuel pump so do I have to do any modifications to it?
Hope to start changing it on Friday so any help in advance so I can get the parts before would help.

Thank
Steve

edc also has more power to cope with auto ,cant you swap crank ,put you will need a std accelerator pedal and cable + live ignition feed for pump solenoid ,edc pedal and no4 injector will be worth some good money

Thanks Jamesmartin, Sounds like maybe swapping the fuel pump with the EDC version may be better and easier then?
I'd read a post about the EDC being more powerful, but after reading the posts on 'tuning' the fuel pump on non EDC I thought that might be better?
I have an auto box, and will have to swap some bits on the new engine because it is a manual box set-up.

Thanks
Steve
