300tdi Lift Pump Query

The attached photo shows my old lift pump and the one I plan to replace it with. Two questions please:

1. Are I supposed to purchase the olives for the piping separately? If so, what size?

2. In the attached photo on the old pump is that a spacer or a gasket? It appears too thick and brittle to be a gasket to me. I assume since the new one came with only a paper gasket it means no spacer is required?

try nrc9771 and nrc9770,no spacer is needed when fitting to a 300tdi

Thanks! I am lost as to why the pump came without the nuts and olives

its common for them to come separate

8mm olives or 5/16ths if you want a tighter fit. Make sure they are barrel olives and NOT stepped olives. By my experience go hand tight and 1 extra turn max for a good seal. If you want to check out the lift pump flow check out the video I did here....
