300tdi idols, revs but the second it’s in gear..it’ll die after 10 meters.

So the title says it all…but there’s more. The car is a project. I’m trying to run the engine with as little add ons as possible. So I have vacuum lines going nowhere… the radiator is currently disconnected (I’m aware it’s not good to drive like this, my goal was only to drive it for a couple of minutes to see if the car was connected up ok) and also things like the aircon no longer exist.

What could be causing the car to die? I know lots! But with that also said, what systems can I remove and block off without causing issues.

After changing everything in the fuel system my son's 200tdi was the injector pump causing problems.

Seized boost pin in the injection pump take it out & clean it.

Couple of minutes being driven with no coolant could mean it is new engine time.

Iirc the advice for the series diesel was to not run the engine with no coolant as the injectors could be damaged.
