Going to replace my engine, gearbox and transfer box in my 300tdi disco next week, i have bought a second hand disco with 119k on the clock, seems ok, abit wet on the top of the rocker box but not bad other than that, its going in my every day motor which has to be reliable, just wondered what people would suggest to change and swap on the 3 units while there on the workshop floor, cheers jamie
300tdi freshen up before engine re fit... What would you do?

Core plugs on the main block ...
P gasket ...
Timing belt (cambelt)...
Remove & bypass the EGR ...
Replace all the intercooler hoses ...
As long as you have confidence in the piston rings and the valve gear you should be OK ...

Mine had 205K so I was intending on doing just a refresh too plus just replace the bearings... Now my block is off getting bored for bigger pistons and contemplating on a VNT turbo when its all back together
