300Tdi flywheel dowels??

Good evening all.

Has any of you guys removed the 3 dowels out of the flywheel?

I would like to do this so i can have my flywheel skimmed.

Yes, it's very straight forward. They often need a bit of heat [ideally MapGas], heat up then gently remove with mole grips in a rotational direction [don't try to pull them out]. I soaked with PlusGas before I removed mine, bit of heat and out they popped. Don't worry about trashing the dowels, just replace with new.

If you cant get them out the people doing the skim will get them out
I think they struggled with one of mine and had to drill it out and make another one
