300tdi bad starting

my 300tdi has become bad at starting when cold and then when it does start there is a lot of blue smoke and the after a few mins its fine. has any1 got any ideas please help

Have you checked the condition of the fuel leak off pipes? Mine was difficult to start from cold until I changed them recently.

I dout its heater plugs, mine on seperate button and never need them even with - temps
