I have an interesting problem for you all to try and solve.

Normal cruze is no trouble, very clean. But, if doing clutch breaking, or allowing to tick over smoke rapidly builds. Then when pulling away or reving it chucks out a large cloud of blue tinted smoke.

However, piston rings and a full head rebuild has made little difference, and the smoke continues to get worse. Generally worse when hot. Bores are good, head is also clean.

Anythoughts?

new rings old bores ,did you gap rings ,measure bores ,(across engine not fore/aft at highest point of ring swept area),you can check blowby by remoiving filler cap, injectors can also burn oil if failing,

thin the oil,but wasnt my first thought, would be worth running it without inlet manifold to intercooler hose to see if excessive oil from turbo

Bores are well within tollerenses and well run in. Can still see factory marks on all the parts.

Did find oil pooled in the turbo today. I assume it is meant to drain.

Sounds similar to mine, mine was smoke on cold startup, on cold morning the smoke was plumes. After ticking over for a few mins it would smoke, the when setting off it would below then clear.

The garage I bought it off said it was normal for a Landy, as did my regular garge. Moot happy so I took glow plugs and injectors out and found number 3 plug and injector covered in oil.

It's gone back to where I bought it and they now discover the head is porous, new head on its way:D
