Hi JM ! Back from the dead again , me that is . Almost had it this time , head , neck , back , leg injuries , stroke , right arm paralysed and lost speech and couldnt walk for a while.........coppers on scene said they had never seen anyone survive a crash of that type before .....being cornwall I had the wreck towed to the side and had borrowed a brush and shovel and had cleared one lane of traffic by the time they rolled up.....I then passed out as the adrenaline wore off . Car taking me to hospital later crashed after hitting a deer , hit my head again and then that night I was attacked by an escaped mental patient who hit me the head for 10 minutes before I passed out - I had a paralysed right arm at the time and was in a very bad way and couldnt defend myself .
ANYWAY.....I am starting to think that constant 4wd and auto doesnt mix well in danger situations . The last 4 auto D1s I have crashed , I never had an accident ( a ROAD traffic one , anyway !) in a manual or any other car before of any seriousness .
So , I cant fit into a deffy so I have been looking at Santana as they have the 2/4wd option , have a cab I can drive in and are more reasonably priced . Problem is I dont like common rail engines even though the Iveco 2.8 is reckoned to be a good 'un .
So....like the title.....can a 300 be dropped into a Santana without too much embuggeration ? Engine management aside ?
Failing that , could a transfer box giving 2wd option be scabbed onto a RRC or an lt77 out of a 200tdi D1 ?
Grasping at straws I know but I have been driving a , cough , ahem ,
pajero since my accident in july and I want to stay landy but stop crashing .
