I’m a long standing member on here and have tidied up a D1 commercial over the past year or so with decent money spent.
I now wish to buy my dream daily as not doing mad miles anymore and can’t justify two landies.
If you know d1s you will know they rust. This one has been repaired to a high standard and I’ve been over a lot of them.
Recent work and summary:
Cambelt and pulleys changed under 20k ago
New cyclone breather
Egr blocked
Intake manifold removed and fully cleaned
Carpets replaced and foam removed - inside floor pans coated in bilt hamber wax
New spare wheel hanger
Rear bumper light guards
Upgraded front bulbs
Aux 50a fuse box for gauges and future accessories
Coffee cup holders
New rocker cover gasket
All new silicone hoses all round
Brand new Nissens radiator
New wax stat
New g part waterpump
New aux belt and tensioner
New clear coolant bottle
Fresh coolant
Fresh oil service and filters
Front diff oil changed
New front discs and pads
New from flexi and hard lines
New cv joint and drive members
New timken front bearings
New steering dampner
New track rod ends
New a frame joint
New arb rear drop links
Headlining refurbed in anthracite carpet
4 x good toyos
Durite temp and oil pressure gauges, boost gauge also included but not wired in
Car play stereo
Low coolant alarm
Commercial bulkhead
Brand new windscreen
New gaiters and restored steering wheel
New rubber pedal covers
New seat covers
12 months mot
Likely more parts that I’ve forgotten - I am restoring a d1 and did everything in my experience to ensure this one stays decent. I didn’t plan to sell hence all the above work!!
the Land Rover had 280k on it - clocks show differently as I replaced scratched ones.
It does not smoke, doesn’t leak (not even an advisory on mot) and starts on the button. It hasn’t been tweaked on boost or fuel and runs excellently. I haven’t had to top up oil in once since service.
The central locking is removed as is the alarm so no immobiliser issues.
Bad points - paint isn’t original but comes up ok.
There’s a small area or crust around feel cradle cross member - I’d cut this and weld.
Wheel paint is corroded but tyres are excellent.
This is the ideal candidate for a loving restoration or is fine to use in current form as a daily. I would prefer it to go to a member to live on rather then being camel cut and thrashed.
3500 or nearest offer please. No stupid low balls please - this isn’t a typical rot box riddled with leaks and issues.
