Hi I’m new to this stuff so sorry if I go on a bit , I recently fitted a new cv joint to my 56 plate td4 sport the joint wouldn’t go int the hub with the abs ring on , on inspecting the old one it didn’t have the ring on either so I removed the new one later that day I got the three amigos I’ve fitted a new brake light switch to no avail could it be the missing ring my abs seems to still work any advice appreciated thank you in advance

A 56 plate doesn't need the abs ring as it has magnets in the wheel bearing and different abs sensors.
Best check the abs sensor is not damaged and is plugged in with no wires damaged before doing anything else.

A code read on the abs will help you.

Also, there are 2 x switches on the brake pedal. One is obvious, the other is a hall effect sensor which can produce abs and tc lights if faulty.

As you've been playing around near the ABS sensor, that's the place to start.
Best get a read of the ABS modulator codes first though.

Thank you for all your advice on this but sadly still have problems, I bought an icarsoft diagnostic device and it tells me it needs a left front abs sensor, I’ve fitted that I’ve found and soldered a break in both wires to both front sensors cleared the fault and sure enough get to 8 mph all 3 lights come on and it says left front wheel sensor. Last time I did diagnostic I looked at abs module and it said there’s no voltage, what should it read thanks again for all your advice

If the diagnosis is for a left front sensor, then that suggests the sensor or the ring is at fault.
What is the exact code, or wording used on for the fault?

ABS showing insufficient voltage is quite common, and is normally caused by the battery being flat at some point, and the ABS module simply stored that code.

Thank you for that mate the car had a new battery a few weeks before all this started could that the problem if so should I be able to switch it if with the icarsoft device

Is the clip which holds the sensor under the bonnet still intact? They are very bridle when old. My one broke and the movement caused the 3 amigos to come up. Used some cable ties which fixed it.
