Hi, I have to replace the rings on my engine. I am going to be taking the heads off to remove pistons. I've been thinking about fitting a composite gasket while there. I have heard that this requires a head skim of about 40th to bring the compression ratio back into spec. I have an old 1983 One Ten 3.5 V8. Do I also have change out the CAM, Push-rods and Lifters if I do the head gasket upgrade? Won't I have changed the distance for the rod, or do the lifters allow for this change. I believe I also have the old original bolts and i've read that I should switch to the stretch bolt type. I should also not torque up the outer 4 bolts to the original spec.
