Im in the process of fitting a Series 2A gearbox into my Series 3. (the old box selectors has broke so needs stripping down and servicing).

Is this a case of swopping the bell housings over and away we go? I noticed that the main shaft on the 2A has a screw type grove on it, just before the clutch teeth. The Series 3 shaft didnt have this, i am assuming this will not be a problem as i think it was to allow the oil to flow (the series 3 bell housing now has the oil seal lower down) but am just checking before fitting everything back together. I could take some pictures if required but this wont be till the weekend.

Cheers

Cheers for the very quick reply. I didnt think it would be a problem. The different clutch's wont make a difference i hope because this is controlled within the bell housing, which i am swopping.
I can't find any information about this, and i thought it would be a fairly common subject.....
