Not posted for yonks due to ongoing health issues, but recently un-SORN'd my P38 to be my daily ride again

I had an opportunity to buy a set of 5 virtually delivery mileage tyres last night. They are off a new Defender.

I have previously run 255/55/19's, but recently reverted to the set of 255/55/18's that came with my P38 five years ago, but two of those are running low on tread.

Will the 255/65/19's cause any issues before I fit them to my 19" wheels please?

Over to you wise lot for sage advice

Kind regards,
Mike.

Hi Alan.
Great to hear from you! I trust you and the boss are well on t'other side of this beautiful country?
A couple of months ago, I got a couple of scrap guys to start ripping out tons of steel baffles. The longitudinal one is 22mts long, intersected by five, 5.8mts ones. All are over 3mts high. Their labour is free, as they're getting £230/ton,so a WIN-WIN! If I'd met them 4yrs ago, It'd be finished now.
Sorry to hear about Tony's demise. What happened to him?

255/55R18 is an OEM size, 255/65R19 is significantly larger and would cause your speedo to read below your true speed, which is illegal
mine came with 255/55R19 fitted and I had scrubbing issues

So sorry to hear that Alan.
I lost a cousin to Covid-19 in the early days of it and currently have two friends in its bastard grip. One of them refused being vaccinated, despite his multiple serious health conditions, is EX-RAF Regiment and, sadly, is in a very bad way and only in his 40's.

Hi Kermit.
Thanks for your prompt input.
I also ran 255/55/19's for over four years, clocking up several tens of thousands of miles, noticing minor variance from true MPH, but without any rubbing at all, even when fitting brand new tyres.
I appreciate there will be a bigger variance from true MPH running on 65 profile, but wondering if anyone on here has experience of running that size.
All the best.
Mike.
