I'll be getting my hands on a series 3 lightweight FFR 24V in a few weeks time. It's with a friend of mine at present who's been getting it ready for MOT.

The 12V v 24V issue! He said he thought it had some form of modification to 12V after he spotted the small black reducer box in the bonnet - but on looking through some previous posts I get the impression this is solely to reduce voltage to the ignition system? Is the reducer an after-fit job or did it come as standard?

grateful for any advice here.

thanks
mike

Hey, i think the reducer is not a standard one as lightweights and series 3 FFR where all fitted for radio with the 24 volt system. What i ask is that is the wiring in the lightweight is wired for 24 volt system or it had been changed.:)?
