It's a defender - milage is largely irrelevant. I once looked at an ex-coastguard 90 with only 38k on the clock. needless to say it needed a new chassis as it had spent it's life in and out of the sea. If it's a well cared for 90 with 215k on the clock then it may be that the only part that has actually travelled 215k is the odometer. They're just like mecano, you can take them apart and put them back together again (and you usually end up with a few bits left over (which you can stick on ebay)).

Be more concerned with the way it drives, the condition and go with your gut instinct. But don't worry about the miles.

Never understand why people are so worried about mileage...look at the vehicle itself!

Whats better? A vehicle with 50k on the clock thats been thrashed, never changed oils, filters etc and generally abused...or a 200k thats been well looked after?

Its not difficult to see if you take your time, ask lots of questions and dont be afraid to walk away!

My 1996 110 has got 248k on the clock and aside from the possible UJ/propshaft related noise it's developed recently (so hopefully no big deal anyway) it drives lovely.

Like Tony110 said though, I'm not sure how many original parts are actually left on it.;)
