200tdi exhaust

According to youtube i want a straight through pipe with a cherry bomb silencer at the rear - mounted side exit behind passengers door.

Will this pass mot on a diesel.....i remember having to take out my mates cherry bomb with him every year for his mot on his '81 golf driver.

But it sounds so good on youtube ha.

Seriously though , what do i need to buy to fit up a throaty but street legal side exit exhaust system.... Im working blind as i only have a 200tdi defender downpipe currently.... My previous system was a pattern stock 2.5td system.

ive got a side exit through behind the passanger door, no silencers what so ever, i made it out of bits of scrap exhaust. Never failed an mot yet. 300tdi by the way

I ran 300 down pipe , td5 straight thru (modded ) and a Tdci 90 tail silencer on my 300 110 it sounded very throaty but on long journeys at speed it really got on my tits
Couldn't hear myself think at times
In the end I fitted a new take off Tdci 110 mid and back silencer and just modded my down pipe (they match the down pipe diameter, whereas Tdi mid and tails are smaller)
Performance seems just as good and just a tiny hint nicer sound than standard

Got a few scrap exhausts laying aboot top cat. The 2.5 is a narrower bore but a v8 exhaust may be ripe for hacking

Not worried about the noise on long journeys - thats what the bread vans for - this will be used for commuting in winter at most rest of time for fun.

Only issue is idont want it to be neighbour ****ing off loud so full on straight through may notbe an option , will need some form of silencer
