200tdi disco

hi all ive got a l reg 200tdi and a mates got the 300tdi hes taken allbyer 1 exhaust boxes off {hes left the back 1 in} an it goes like stink more power an better performance so can i do this to mine or will it damage the engine ,or is the 300 a better engine ?

you can do the same.
mine has the 200 and has a straight through pipe, no boxs whatsoever.. the 200 is a better engine.

agreed 200s are better in my opinion there less to go wrong on them

if everyone though that wed still all be driving 2.5NA's!

From my feeling the 300 produces slightly more torque on low rpm but I didn`t find it that impressive.

I don`t think that you can damage an engine if you cut one exhaust box out.
It will get louder and if that does matter in GB it won`t be street legal.

If you have an EGR valve, blank that off and clean your Intercooler.

the 200 is a better engine

200 doesn't have EGR... or CAT, which may be what your friend has done away with... that's why it performs better now.
