2008 TDV8 Central Locking

Hi all, I have had a good look for threads before I posted but can only seem to see pre-face lift issues and solutions.

Issue - both keys unexpectedly stopped working the central locking. Drivers side opens with the key (with alarm sounding) and car will start off key as normal. I can operate the central locking and boot from the dash buttons.

Car needs to be locked with the key...

I have checked that the keys are sending a signal at a local garage, but other than that I am unsure.

Any thoughts?

have you tried to re synchronise the key to the range rover?
sit in drivers seat doors open or closed does not matter
key in ignition turn so ignition lights up then quickly back to off then quickly back to ignition on then back to off and out
You now have 30 seconds
push and keep down unlocking button whilst giving 3 pushes on lock button after third push release unlock button and central locking should cycle
if you want to do a second fob you have another 30 seconds or just wait then after that 30 seconds start car to ensure program finished

Not sure on the rr, but on the d3 there is a wiring splice under the passenger door floor trim that gets wet and fails causing all sorts of issues with the locks etc.

I think you also have to do all your keys in the one procedure, when I did my new key it killed the old one so had to do it again with both keys in the same session.

Hi, thanks for the reply I have tried but no luck. I have read threads about disconnecting the battery, so I will try that.

Hi all, I still have issues. I replaced the part on the video before as mine looked water damaged.

Does anyone know if the 2008 - 2011 facelift has a different programming procedure? I can only find videos with the old key and interior layout.
