2004 Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 XS equivalent in France

Hi, I'm in the process of buying my first Land Rover and have found a DefenderTD5 90 XS in France that seems to be a bargain. I'm trying to get insurance for it but the French Insurance companies don't seem to recognize the model XS. They are asking what the equivalent in France is and have given me the choice between E, S, or SE. I'm guessing it is the SE but wondered if someone might know for sure? Many thanks in advance! BTW Prices for Defenders in France are mental!

Do the cheapest, if they don't know how are you meant to know?

Hello, I am in France and have come across the same issue. There is a brief mention of the levels in the TD5 section here niveaux de finition on the French Wikipedia site. Trim Levels are 'niveaux de finition'. All you can get from it is that E is lowest spec and SE the highest as you have guessed already. Also here is a downloadable brochure which again mentions trim if you look really (really) closely i.e. page 29
