Hi there,

I have just joined the forum. Last year I swapped my beloved 2003 td5 90 for a 2003 L322 td6 range rover vogue.

The battery kept going flat overnight, so I replaced the battery; I have also replaced the heater matrix. I then disconnected the fuse to the head lights but the battery kept draining. After an hour or two with my multi meter, I discovered that, somehow, my radio causes the car to come out of its "sleep mode". The screen does flicker, turn off and reset itself randomly when driving and sometimes the screen will be on but the radio will not turn on (I guess this is all linked).

I am no expert, and due to the crazy price of a new sat nav/ radio unit, I am a little lost what could be the cause and how/what is the best and cheapest way to fix.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks,

Stuart

Check the connectors to the sat nav / amp units as they are know to get wet from the leaky window seals causing all sorts if problems ! Very common issue

That's exactly what happened to mine. You can take it apart really easily - just snip the seals and pull the top and bottom off. Inspect the green printed circuit board for water damage. If the PCB looks Ok you might be able to get it fixed.
I have sent it off to a bloke in Hungary for a £50 repair. I'll let you know how that works out.

Thanks, I will take a look and see. I would be interested to hear how you get on Herald.

Just got my sat nav back. All seems to work. I found the guy on eba*. His name is mirrtzi. He is in Romania, not Hungary as I said earlier.
Including P&P it cost £70.00 to get fixed.

Hi there

A lot of time has passed by but did you get to the bottom of the drain issue, as I have the same issue?

Regards
