Hello Land Rover Zone,
My first time posting but have found the forum very useful since owning my Defender. Just driven back to the house today, get stopped at a level crossing about 2mins from home and turned off as it was going to be a wait.
When I restarted noticed a lack of power and not the normal TD5 engine (song) noise, parked up at home and plugged the nanocom in to have a look.
Found the following faults:
---
The TD5 ecu contain the following faults:
FAULT 27-02 injector 2 peack charge long (CURRENT)
FAULT 31-02 injector 2 open circuit (CURRENT)
--
Turned off, had a cup of tea and dug out my laptop to connect up to the nanocom. Started up and had a look at the injector balance:
It starts with all 5 in normal (if there is such a thing!) between -3 and +4, (hunting idle?) after about a min injector 2 jumps to reading between +10 and +14. The others showing minus figures trying to compensate. See Attachment.
After switching off, I had a look at the ECU plug and cleaned a very small about of oil out and restarted with no difference.
At the back end of December 2010 (@95,000) I had some problems with the Land Rover cutting out after about 10mins. We sorted that with a New Injector Harness, cleaning out the oil in the ECU plug, new MAF Sensor and replacing the Injector Seals and Washers.
Only done 20,000 miles since that happened and haven't had any engine related issues since.
Currently only ongoing faults ABS/TC lights on and following error from nanocom
--
FAULT 27-05 shuttle valve switch electrical failure
--
Going to have a better look under the bonnet tomorrow.
Surely not time for a new injector harness?
Looks to be single injector problem?
Electrical/wiring?
Any ideas or thoughts (relating to this problem or not!) greatly appreciated
Mark
