For sale, for spares or repair, I am selling my Freelander TD4 ES. The car is in need of some minor TLC.
I do not have the spare time at the moment to do the required work, and so the car is being offered for sale.
This has the BMW M47 engine fitted, it has covered 118k miles, with an almost full service history. The car starts first time, every time, and runs OK with no warning lights displayed. 2 rear tyres, and spare tyre have been replaced not too long ago, and still have lots of tread. 2 sets of keys are present, with 2 remote fobs. All electrics work as you would expect, apart from the sunroof, see below
The car is MOT's until March 28th, 2014, and road tax until end of July 2013. It passed its MOT with 2 advisories, one for the rear exhaust deteriorated, and O/S/F CV boot perished. The CV boot has been replaced already.
There are also receipts for over £1200 to back up some of the recent work done
Being an ES spec, the car benefits from having Heated leather seats, 6 disc CD changer, electric windows all round, remote central locking, Air Conditioning, 16" Alloy wheels, power folding mirrors etc.
It is also fitted with the very rare "Adventurer" bodykit. Most of these were 3 door models, and the 5 door bodykit is an extremely rare sight.
Over the last few years, it has had a lot more of the common issues taken care of.
It has had both the in-tank fuel pump, and the low pressure fuel pumps replaced. It has had 3 window regulators replaced.
The fuel tank strap has been repaired using stainless steel, to prevent any further issues.
It has had both complete track rods and ends replaced, and tracking done.
The rear brakes have had some work done, including a new wheel cylinder.
2 ABS sensors have been replaced
The very common rear subframe issues have already been resolved. This was repaired properly by a garage, with a receipt to confirm.
The rear trims around the rear door have also been replaced, and sealed, so the boot and the toolbox under the floor is actually bone dry!
Now, onto the bad points. Main issue is the clutch is slipping under full throttle. It drives OK-ish if you are gentle with it, but it needs attention. If it needs a new clutch kit, they can be purchased on Ebay for as little as £55. If it needs a flywheel, again these can be bought on Ebay new for around £200, or good 2nd hand units for much less.
Smaller issues are a few suspension knocks, one being the drivers front bottom ball joint, the other being some anti-roll bar links. Both very cheap, quick and easy to replace.
The sunroof does not work. There is a click from the roof when the button is operated, but it does not move. At least it is stuck shut, so it doesn't leak!
The car is 11 years old, so there are a few age related marks, and a few rust spots here and there.
If you are capable of doing the work yourself, you could have the car back on the road for less than £100. I know what the car is worth, so please, no silly offers. No swaps, and no P/X's
Viewing is welcome, and encouraged. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the car any more, or to arrange a time to come and see it.
Please note the car is located in Dundee, Scotland. While the car does currently drive, and is taxed, and MOT'd, I do not know how long the clutch will last before it gives in. IF you choose to drive away, you do so at your own risk.
£1200 ono
Alternatively, the car is currently on Ebay, with a sensible reserve that is lower than the asking price
