I just recently bought a 2001 td5 discovery 2 auto.

If I put my foot down, the revs pulse and it feels as if there virtually no power at all, almost like the turbo isn’t working or it’s in limp mode or something. It has been fine the past month i’ve had it and only just started having this issue. hoping it’s nothing too serious! any suggestions?

So when you're accelerating it goes bit jerky then flat as a pancake until you switch off and restart ?

Also check the waste gate actuator. It can come loose. Mine lost both of its nuts in the middle of a Christmas holiday down in Cornwall. all it would have taken to fix it was 2 M6 nuts!! Typically shops and garages all shut!

If the car goes back to normal on a restart, until you gun it, or have to go up a hill, it is likely to be something to do with the wastegate. It is the ECM sensing overfuelling and shutting fuel supply down to "limp mode".
