200 tdi bottom end 2.5 td top end???

Got a 200 tdi bottom half of engine and the top half of a 2.5 td would the two fit together?? At the moment I have no complete engine at all and need to get something going. Please don't all call me stupid at once I am asking because I don't know

I don't think so. I know the heads on the 200 are quite different from the earlier models. I believe new 200tdi heads are now in short supply.

Every thing I need for my 90 is in short supply it would seem.

Any one got a complete engine they don't need ????

I do believe I've heard that the bottom ends are the same although I cannot be 100% on that, James Martin would be the best person to answer that I reckons.

I also thought bottom ends were same with the addition of the strengthening ladder chassis at the bottom of the 200 tdi block. I'll be watching this one with interest...

they are basically the same but head bolt holes are different ,besides piston have to match heads and injectors ,tdi pistons protrude above block faces td pistons dont
