300tdi auto N reg onwards were edc engines, pre N reg they had normal throttle cables/injection pumps, EDC autos are slow beyond belief, though when chipped they will beat a std manual td5 hands down.

You’ll struggle at 2k unless you find someone who doesn’t know that they’re getting a bit rare.
If they don’t know it’s getting rare, then they don’t know D1s and more importantly the rust won’t have been addressed!

Just came to me now, I spotted a bellhousing hanging it the rafters of my shed the other day, iirc its a stumpy to fit a r380 onto a 200tdi.
The Disco one R380 fits the 200tdi, just miss a couple of bolts off
