Apologies for posting on a main board but hoping for a quick response as I'm up to my arms in oil..... Best way on a Saturday
Problem started when my high quality britpart filter disintegrated at 2 months old spewing lumps of filter paper through my fuel system (cheapskate *********) 4 filters later she is now running but seems to have a bad low revs diesel knock and down on power a little , knock is bad as you pull away clearing as revs pick up, bad again as revs drop approaching a junction / stop ,
I'm thinking either another filter change in case the last bits of crud have finally reached the filter or unrelated pump timing issue
Pump hasn't been touched but I know the smallest movement has quite an effect on a 2.25
Any ideas? Any set way to turn the pump when knocking like this or am I barking at wrong tree?
Also 2 people mentioned check the gauze filter on the cab pump??? I've removed the inlet banjo and large bolt behind but all that hides is a spring with a small plunger in the end? Does the cav have a gauze ?? I don't wanna remove much more n have a dozen springs n bits of metal make a bid for freedom
Bit stuck .... Wouldn't be an issue with a tdi but the 2.25 cav isn't something I've ever played with having v6 n v8 series in the past
Cheers Steve
