Hi i know this has probably been asked before my mpg is way down to 15mpg on the dash no fault code so suspect the MAF is reading wrong i have 10mg at tickover could not find anything on a google search what the normal should be many thanks

A failure with the MAF shouldn't give such a huge reduction in MPG.
It's a diesel, so fuel consumption is directly proportional to power being generated, so high fuel consumption is normally due to things like binding brakes.

Hi thanks for the reply i took it on a longer run yesterday got 29 mpg still not great tho compared to when i bought it however on tickover and a slight bit of a blip of the throttle i can hear what sounds like a little air leak from by the drivers front wheel where the turbo is ubsure if this is normal or a suspect pipe is leaking a bit

You have to take into account that the average MPG calculations are done over a rolling 30 mile distance. This means the figures given can vary widely, if you've only done short distances.

My 2009 MY SE manual averages 32 MPG on my Cornish B road commute of 8 miles.

Hi

Yeh i think doing a proper miles test calculating it myslef before digging any deeper might be better then. I know i did not buy it for fuel economy but just when it dropped so much i thought i would look into it a little.

Thanks
