hi all i have a problem with my brakelights ,the fuse blew the other day and everytime i put a new fuse in it blows ,all the bulbs are fine,as soon as i turn on the ignition the fuse blows ,i don't even get time to touch the brake pedal its blowing straight away,i think it could be either the brake pedal switch or the relay , i can't find where the relay is but can find the switch for the pedal any help would be much appreciated, alex

Just check the filaments in bulbs haven't broken etc.

Have u a towbar, poss water in electrics arching circuit

There isnt a brake relay according to Haynes. Try the brakes without turning ignition on, I think they should work

Check wiring into lamps from behind

Take all bulbs out then see if fuse blows, if it doesn't the fault lies with bulb or bulb holder, if fuse still blows, you may have a damaged or chaffed wire in the circuit. There is a "header joint" C292 ( YELLOW IN COLOUR ) behind R/hand rear trim panel near R/hand rear seat belt reel mounting, you should be able to disconnect each lamp circuit in turn to find which one is down to earth, but check harness between the Header and brake pedal switch first.
