Hi All,

As part of my resurrected build:

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/posts/5248373/

I've reached a bit of a stop when trying to move on to the clutch system. The slave cyl was fitted a long time ago when I got to the rolling chassis stage, so I now need to move on to plumbing between master & slave. I know in the original 300tdi spec, there is a long rubber hose, with some sort of weird male to male connection, but I'm keen to keep as much in cupro as possible. I've got a load of 1/4 cupro, and m12 unions, only to discover that the threads and sizes seem to differ end to end. The union into the slave seems to be very coarse, but I can't find out the spec (UNF20 maybe?). The same question then occurs at the other end, with the thread into the master.

The gearbox is R380, but with a V8 bell housing. the defender itself has been converted to a V8, so has extra exhaust manifold stuff to work around.

Ideally I want to go:

Out of master in Cupro, along bulkhead in cupro - over the gbox tunnel join, to the tab on the bulkhead passenger side footwell box, and then from that tab, convert from cupro to possibly custom braid into the slave. So:

1) does anyone know the thread & size spec into a '98 300tdi clutch master cyl
2) does anyone know the thread & size spec into an R380 slave cyl?
3) Where's the best place to get clutch system braided flexi pipes?

Thanks

Adam

Re' threads, buy a thread gauge set and measure. Goodrich braided hoses can be bought direct and/or from most good suppliers + there's a great new tech search facility, it's called Google.

Re' FB, I doubt it, it's mostly full of second hand parts stripped from stolen Land Rovers or Co's selling spunked up sporting parts to make a Land Rover bellow out unspent hydrocarbons.
