Hi there , new to this forum so please be good to me.
I am going to see and hopefully buy my first Discovery 300 TDI .
It is an automatic one and apparently has no timing belt.
We the little experience i have i thought these model all have timing belt rather than a chain ? Anybody knows for sure ?

Many thanks

It has a timing belt, not a chain.

There is a very remote possibility someone has converted it to Zeus gears in the past but it was not a cheap conversion, so not a lot of people did it, if so it would then not have a Timing belt, but would have had one originally .

Regards Jonathan

Please remember to 'introduce yourself' in the relevant section and read the brief ... Ta

the vendor says it was like that when he bought it.
it could well be that it was converted to a Zeus gears , anyway of knowing if the vendor takes a picture ?
The jeep only has 128000 miles by the way.

you sure ,
as when i bought one from main stealers they said 72k ?

You are right to say that the LR-stated interval is 6 yrs or 72,000mls of "ordinary use". What constitutes ordinary use? Off-roading certainly does not.

For the cost of a cam-belt versus the peace of mind there is no contest - but it's up to you.
