I've got a Bravada SmartTrack 4x4/AWD (whatever) and I have some
questions about it. I was wondering if anyone knew if both front
wheels/tires get engaged when the 4x4 locks in or if just one get
locked in. I was also wondering (since the 4x4 ability is
electronically controlled) if they sell a kit that I can plug in so
that I can push a button & have it in 4 wheel drive all the time, i.e.
disabling the auto sensor. Last time I needed 4x4 ability the front
tires didn't kick in instantly, it took a few rotations of the back.
Is there a kit I can buy that plugs into the wiring harness or a
modification I can make?

Thanks

The front axle drives both front wheels, through an open differential.

SmarTrak did not become electronic until 1998. Your 92 should be like my 97,
a viscous clutch between front and rear.

No sensor, no controls, no manual operation.
