I have a nasty oil leak coming from the front right corner of the
engine block. As far as I can tell it looks like it is coming from the
oil pan gasket. I have removed the "guard plate" and there is oil on
the A/C unit. (I assume that the leaked oil has just been blown
around)

1990 Toyota 4runner V6 3.0 Litre 4WD

2 Questions:

1. Is there any other oil "orifice" on the right front side of the
engine block that this oil could be coming from (it definitely is
motor oil)

....if I must replace the oil pan gasket...I have a feeling its a
multi-step task...

2. Are there online manuals for 4runners (1990)....my local library
just had the Chiltons'...rather vague and general.

Thank you

Greg

PS: or should I just take to the local Toyota dealership

You can buy the original Factory Service Manual (FSM) at:
Toyota Material Distribution Center
750 West Victoria St
Rancho Dominguez/Compton, CA USA 90220-5538
Ph:1-800-622-2033 (outside CA)(M-F: 7-5 PST)
Ph:1-800-443-7656 (inside CA)
Ph:1-310-818-4630 (in or outside CA)
The p/n for my 1985 Truck & 4Runner manual is 36246A

Any public library in your area would have the Factory service manual, as well as the Haynes,Chiltons,Mitchells and Toyota
repair books.

You can often find the FSMs on the public aution sites like:
http://www.ebay.com/

Some book stores carry it as well:
http://www.abebooks.com/

There is also free AutoZone service manuals at:
http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/Ui...: [url]http://www.net-impress.com/4runner/cd/

For scanned pages of factory service manuals for other engines:
http://www.brian894x4.com/Scannedmanual.html
http://www.showmesome.info/hilux/info/manuals/1KZ-TE/
http://toyoefi.freeyellow.com/manual.html
http://www.grubinski.com/grubinski/manuals.html
http://www.hotrodder.com/kwkride/tech.html
http://www.autoshop101.com/
http://www.mtv411.com/sitemap.htm

The FSM is well worth the investment, it may come in one or more volumes (early years tend to be single, later years are
mutli-volume)
You'll likely recover the manual investment on the first problem diagnosis or repair you do using it.
