Hi all I bought an rrc a while ago it was a 3.9 v8 vogue and has had a 300 transplant, the chap I got it off said she was running warm on the dash due to a sensor miss match, after further investigation he has put what appears to be the v8 tem sensor in the bottom of the thermostat housing,I have done the headgasket over the weekend and still no change running at 3 quarters of the way up the quage with no stat in any ideas

you need a stat in, as it has a bypass pipe.

you also need to match the gauge, sender unit and normal engine temp to get the correct reading.

you'll probably be better off buying an aftermarket gauge and sender vdo, smiths, durite, stack and try to get it to match your dash.

in the meantime a ten quid laser heat gun works well to check if you really have an issue or not

you could always muck about with the sensor.. as i'm not sure what matches the rrc.

AMR1425 is the green one, AMR3321 the black

top of the head is for the egr control, you don't need that and i'd chuck the egr away if you have it.

you want to use the one on the thermostat housing :)

if you want, i don't know all the combos with the different gauges.. there will be a list somewhere.

best way is an aftermarket one though, more precise :)
