Hi all,
Totally new to the forums and wanted to say hello!

I also have a question. I have a 2019 Disco Sport I've recently just bought (it arrives today! Cannot wait!) and I want to upgrade the standard 19" wheels to a set of 21". The current fitting is an 8jx19 ET45 but the only 21" variants I can find are 9jx21 ET45. I'm wondering if an inch wider with the same offset will fit without rubbing/not fitting with the suspension? Does it work with tiny 3-5mm spacer for example?

All thoughts and suggestions are welcome! TY :)

Welcome
Disco Sports are virtually unheard of on LZ
I am not sure if they have a dedicated forum? Disco3 forum (covers most d3 onwards disco models) might be a good start

Hi, i keep telling this in vain that fitting bigger than standard tyres on a vehicle with so much electronics which was "calibrated" from factory on a certain dimension tyre is not an upgrade, on the contrary. First of all read the owner's manual then decide if those who wrote it are stupid or not and if you think they are not decide if you want the "macho" look or a safe vehicle, just a "favour" : https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/document/3A/2019/T19987/32055_en_GBR/proc/G1868542

I'm not into stupid wheels on a 4X4, as they kinda defeat the purpose of the vehicle.

As to if they fit, just measure the standard clearance, and deduct ½" from it. ;)

:D

On the modern stuff the larger the wheel diameter, lower the profile the tire fitted, so overall diameter is the same.
I don't think his was the typical defender what's the biggest wheel I can fit question

This is true. However the car needs to know what wheels are fitted, so the ESP system can function correctly. Different tyre profiles have different slip characteristics, which the ESP module will need to know.

Plus 1 ^^^^^^^^^

indeed why oh why fit larger tyres with smaller sidewalls on a 4x4 , drives me nuts why anyone would do this

definitely a downgrade , plus of course advising the insurance company

Because they're more interested in looks over function. It makes a pretty good 4x4 into a useless 4x4.
I personally wouldn't go bigger than a factory size, simply because the factory knows best.

Yes they should, along with the RR Evoque.
Although the owners of both these modern LRs seem to be rather more interested in looks than function, and are also super sensitive soles. :D

Put the boot on the other foot:D

I'm dyslexic, and you got the idea. ;)

I was not sure to go with boot or fish joke!

Weird thing is I can spot grammatical mistakes a mile away, but am terrible at making them myself, I normally get away with it as my hand writing is so bad.

OP:- Welcome Aboard :)

Friendly place. Thanks for the advice. Enjoy.

Oh, I'm sure you're very welcome. Thing is, what is the load rating of the proposed wheels? are they suitable, and legal for the vehicle in question.. ? Etc. ..

Some of the genuine LR wheels are not rated for other LR's ...

This place is very friendly as it happens, so there, big bear :p

:D

18" are bad enough for ride

indeed and seems the most common for larger wheels are on RRS’s ,then in order for them to fit inside the arches theyre so narrow they look like rubber bands , then wonder why there’s warning lights or handling issues

for me the biggest rims I would fit on mine are 19’s but that’s only so I can fit larger brakes

wonder how many tell there insurance company , plus there’s been a good few who have gone out and bought a set of RRS wheels for there D3 , then realised there’re not suitable for the D3, oops

Indeed as u say, the RRS rims arnt rated for D3’s

Believe it or not @Col C the forum has loads of knowledge and you asked;)
The fact of changing wheel trye size like you want will absolutely give you a bumpy ride and watch for pot holes with the rubber band you would end up with.
https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/

Just a comparison to keep it in limits of original rolling circumference. Was a bit of a guess on size, but feel free to check your real numbers:)
We actually went down on rim size to give us better ride here so we could have bigger rubber bands:p:D.

So if these comments have made you think;). Let us know:).
