Interesting note in the text on 3rd page, Aisin producing the 6-speed
slushbox for the VW Touareg....
(since the very first rumours for the VW V10 TDi, the transmission was the
main problem (I don't think the ever even considered a manual for it....:))

Butt-ugly C-style though....wonder what body the poverty-pack models
(Africa/Australia) will get....the current split between J100/IFS &
J105/solid-axles is already a strain, concept-wise (J105 is basically
identical to J8, including frame; only different body).

Only multitudes of 6 are okay....;))

(if only because an inline-6 leaves more room on the side of the engine,
for aftermarket bells & whistles....:))
(OTOH, it might be worse, the shape of the nose *requiring* a shorter &
lower engine....which would then mean that there *can't* be a 'poverty-
pack' version of this model, with solid axles (and lockers front and rear;
no locker available for the front axle on the luxury J100/IFS version today
either), since those workhorses require both simplicity (no turbo,
definitely not two) and the low-end torque of an inline-6.

The silly thing is: 220kW with the current inline-6 isn't very difficult to
obtain either, with aftermarket tuning....even only requires 5-7.5k euro.

"begeerd".
