Hi all,

I've been working at swapping the rear axle on my 110, all went well except the self leveller which split in two and pi55ed oil all over me. Seems the rod that goes through the middle has a knackered thread. I'll see if it's repairable but if it's not I'm not really wanting to dish out the £1200 that they coat new.

I've seen posts on here of people removing them and fitting spring helpers of stiffer springs with no Ill effect.

My question is.....

What is to be removed. Obviously the self leveller. But what about the a frame and ball joints? Stay or go? Pictures of this done would be a plus!

Thanks is advance!

Not got 1 on mine.
You can just change the Aframe ball joint to a standard 1 so no big knuckle. Just got standard springs.

Did my Rangie last year due to it leaking fluid.
No way was I forking out mega bucks for a replacement so just took it off, didn't bother changing the A frame ball joint, I just found a bottle top that fitted over the old joint on the A frame.
As far as suspension is concerned I did try new std coils as mine were tired anyway, but without the boge unit they wern't up to the job. Ended up fitting police spec rear coils and am happy with the result.

Thanks all, will give it a go. I already planned on fitting intermediate springs so I'll see how it runs with these in.
