Hi All,

So i have replaced my rusty old tank including the craddle/stone guard. But i'm now doubting if i put the rubber mounting bushes on correctly. I can't figure it out with the help of interwebs nor manuals.
Current situation
the bolt sleeve - mounting rubber - tank - mounting rubber - craddle - ring and nut.
or should it be:
bolt sleeve - mounting rubber - tank - craddle - mounting rubber - ring and nut.

see (bad quality) picture.

2nd question regarding fuel pipe clamps
I have installed new fuel pipes from the tank to the engine bay. I went to my nearest car parts store and as they didn't have the 'original' thin plastic-ish land rover pipes they gave me 'new style' pipes. Material and pressure-wise all suitable with corresponding inside diameter, but the OD is a bit bigger so my original pipe clips wont fit. Any suggestions what to use? Currently my fuel pipes are zip-tied to the chassis, not ideal.

Thanks!

Fuel pipes are nylon 10mm od 8mm id (flow)
8mm od 6mm id (return)
Cheap as chips really from a pneumatic place as it's used for compressed air installation, available in many colours and , usefully, in an opaque clear, good for air ingress problem solving. It can be extended using plumbers compression fittings too.

the id's are the same, but my od's are now 13mm for flow and 10/11 for return so the original land rover clips are not suited. The opaque clear is a good one! Although as i just installed everything for the time being i want to keep what i have but use suitable clips so i can get rid of the zip ties. Any recommendations on what to use?

I had the tank out of my 110 a short while ago, I fitted the tank and cradle together, with one rubber above the tank and one beneath the cradle.

Ah so the tank and cradle are between the rubbers, i'll have to change that than! Many thanks.

These p clips are good but it'll be a pain to fit them on top of the chassis, could fix to the side rails probably.
Means drilling holes in the chassis and pop rivits.
I'd rip it out and fit the nylon, less work and not much more money and it would be a proper job.
I don't know what you've done at the engine end but guessing you've replaced the fuel filter banjos with hose tail types to accommodate the rubber?

Well the previous owner had already made a bit of a mess here, indeed the banjo's have been replaced with the 'standard' types. I'm gonna follow the advice for nylon and will sort the whole system including banjo's out after summer. Thanks a lot!
