11" front brake drum help

I've got myself in a bit of a muddle assembling the front brakes - everything including the backplate is in pieces - does anyone know where I can find a picture of the backplate complete with shoes/springs/etc - I do have the exploded diagram but a picture would be a great help - thanks

Spot on - thanks very much for the picture link - however I may have a new problem - seeing the picture - is there a ring around the six bolts that bolt the backplate to the swivel hub - I do not have a ring - only the bolts & locking tabs

depends on the hub type you are usisng if the bearings are different sizes then no if they are the same size then yes..

I havent got a ring on my 11" brakes either, just the bolts attaching the back plate to the axle.

Mine neither

My 1981 has it. The ring is an oil catcher. In the back place you will see a small hole which is positioned at the bottom of where the ring fits. This is to allow the oil to run out behind the back plate rather than oil up the brakes should it spring a leak

So basically just hope I do not have any oil leaks as I do not have the ring....
having said that all the seals and bearings are new....thanks very much for the advice...

Those catchers weren't on pre 1980 vehicles anyway so it's no great issue unless you spring a leak, as you say.
