1:92 ratio transfer box

Hi Can anyone please help I want to change transfer box on a 200tdi Defender running Boost alloy wheels
I know that I should fit a 1:41 ratio box but have this 1:92 out of a rangerover auto will my engine be man enough. I dont do any towing. the id number on box is 28D041494B

28d is a 1.222 and was a common upgrade if you didnt fit over large tyres

I had a 1.19 tfer box on my 90 with mich xl 8.25 tyres, as James says above it was well over geared, 1st high range was unuseable on steep hills, and top gear was pointless on long motorway drags, best thing I ever did going back to the 1.4.

I am confused because on the box is a big green sticker with1:92 ratio on it. At the moment I have this 200 tdi which screams on the motorway if you go over 75 I thought it had a 1:41 box and wanted 1:21 to get the revs down

28d is a 1.2 rrc or disco standard box,so will run on a defender well unless tyre size is much greater than fitted to a disco or rrc

Thanks for that I will give it a go. it was just that green sticker on box that threw me I have never come accros a 1:92 before but new that this unit came off a disco 1 auto.
