Ok, so there I was driving home when the front of the little Freelander turned into a steam bath. Fortunatley I was about 50m from home. You may be suprised to find out that this was due to a failed head gasket... I know, its a shock...

The upshot is that today a shiney new gasket set, uprated double shim with bolts (£40.00 off E-bay) arrived. I fitted it, on the road side, in 4 hours! Its that simple if the head is not dammaged.

I have a link to the instructions if anyone else wants to have a pop at this little fix.
