04 freelander sport trip computer questions

Hi, apologies for the noob question, picked up my freelander last week and unfortunately there isnt an owners handbook with it...

I've got an '04 freelander sport and was wondering if I should have a trip computer/mpg display on the dash on this model? Ive got two select sticks next to the display on the speedometer, the one on the left hand side doesn't appear to do anything though. I can switch between total miles and trip on the right stick.

Display on the left is showing gear basically (auto gearbox). Seems strange that the left stick isn't doing anything, any advice?

from memory i dont think any of the freelander 1 models had any MPG display.

ive downloaded the full RAVE thing earlier but I think it was for earlier models... Ill check again.
