hi everyone first post on the forum so take it easy on me lol got my first disco 6 years ago now it's 1995 auto box with 2" lift kit and big set of all terrain tyres mainly got it for work purposes but have ended up falling in love with it, now with 200k miles last week, I seen a fresher 03 model last week with 78k on the clock and manual Gearbox , with enough spare cash saved up I purchased her, the body work and interior is immaculate tho the chassis does have a some scaly rust iam in the steel industry and have a shotblaster in the yard , my intention is to strip the body off and get the chassis blasted and galvanised as I've done a few for others over the years and seems to be the job prob a bigger job stripping than I imagine but my biggest question is the 03 is very dead down low below 2500 revs it seems to lack a lot of grunt and I imagine with towing a compressor often it will kill her more what's my best options to improve the low end grunt would I be correct in thinking egr removal and remap ? Sorry for the long post and any help an advice is much appreciated

Hi there,

Low down grunt could be a naff MAF sensor, have you tried unplugging it and driving it to see if things improve?

Otherwise get it on diagnostics while it is running and record what is happening. May be something is not right.

The turbo cuts in about 1800 rpm on the D2. Below that they do feel a little bland , a remap is nice.

Cheers

Hi neilly
No havnt tried the maf sensor yet will give it a go tomorrow havnt really done are looked at much yet but as you say it's a bit bland maby iam just expecting to much from it but the 1995 would eat the arise off her down low which just makes me think it's lacking a bit
