I use the traditional stuff as there was no such thing and OAT when the engine was designed.. but I'm just odd. OAT certainly lasts longer and if you change coolant type you need to be thorough in not mixing different types as they can react with eachother
Great, thanks Kermit.

I use the stuff used in vw, the pink stuff. I also wouldn't leave the anti freeze in there for too long, not for more two years. Also if you use a current type, it can be mixed if needed in emergency ;)
but but but some OEM use different colours for the same thing.. and same colours for different coolant.. it gets very confusing if you start looking at manufacturer branded coolant

Blue is mercedes, green for Renault, older models and now on yellow.
Red was ford I think?
I use the pink and yellow for a majority of cars I do but blue is for the mercs.
Orange? Usually a rusty pink not changed:p

Hello everyone,

I have just noticed that I have run out of cooling water.
I have a P38 with Bosch.
Can I use this?
4012 MANNOL Antifreeze AF12+ G12+ ?

Rave has the most ambiguous standard possible..... Which basically means use the chepest ethylene-glycol based coolant you can buy. All this OAT and F12 G12 stuff wasn't even invented when your engine was produced!

Summer is coming. I'd just add water until you can find the leak. Antifreeze is expensive....
