As above really, does anybody know where to get a starter dog for a 2.5 N/A? Or is it the same thread as the series starter dogs on the 2.25s?

Asking as i have a capstan winch to fit to my 88 and only have a pulley bolt at the minute. If i can't find one I will probably adapt the drive shaft to take a 42 mm socket but obviously i would prefer to have the proper unit

i think you need a special dog std starter dog wont do ,with a std dog you can turn the engine but engine wont drive the handle

Ah right so you mean it would have to be a fixed dog?

Do you see any problems with using a socket on the pulley bolt? the shafts spring loaded so theres force applied to the bolt so is unlikely to jump off and round

Found the proper starting dog for the winch for a 5brgengine on craddocks for £124. F**k that, I'll make my own or modify my drive shaft to fit the engine;. either way its way too pricey for me
